SlabWing 'Dash For Cash Winner' Is Philip Goforth At Over 220 MPH

Third Annual Event Sponsored By GripLock Ties Held At Reno Air Races

GripLockTies Rubber-Lined ZipTies were developed to protect wires and structure on a race airplane and development and testing progresses as GripLockTies are taking the aviation and racing world by storm.

Formula 1 Airracing is the only class designed around pure racers and is growing rapidly today due to the GripLockTies incentive to keep more stock racers at the races. The third year prize of $1000 available only to the “Worlds Fastest Slabwing” by posting the fastest speeds at the Reno National Air Races in September in a combined speed based upon qualifying and race speeds.

SlabWing Cassutt Racers have a square wing and are generally slower, but fill the field of 24 racers around the Pylons in Reno and form the history of the class. Typical Slabwing speeds are 180-190mph with Winners of the Dash for Cash at 196 mph in 2016 with Paul Newman (not that Paul Newman) and 202 mph in 2017 by Mr. Swaid Rahn. This year, "Annie", flown by Philip Goforth, pushed speeds to 220mph, a record that is going to be hard to beat.

International Formula 1 President Elect Philip Goforth has consistently raced generally faster Taper Wing planform racers. But this year, he vowed to win the GripLockTies.com money. Philip found an historically fast airplane that has not raced in yeas rebuilt it and then added more speed with his 3 bladed Catto Propellor. Annie is for sale as Phil goes back to a taper wing in 2019 to go for the top overall speeds in the class.

Goforth added the best technology legal for the class and used GripLockTies to hold his light weight batteries for his Light Speed Ignition onto the structure with light and tough Releasable Rubber-Lined GripLockTies. In the photo you can see he left the ties cut a bit long to allow the releasable feature of the GripLockTies.

GripLockTies is a development of Lock Right Brands of West Valley City, Utah. Rubber-Lined fasteners were designed by Creighton King to protect the wires and not smash or damage the wires. Using the worlds best materials and Patented innovations are used to provide a whole new world of fasteners to the Aviation, Automotive, Racing and manufacturing industries desiring to save money and save weight.
