Bombardier Grows Its Global Family of Business Jets

Launches Global 5500 And Global 6500 At EBACE

Bombardier Business Aircraft is proud to unveil two additions to its business jet fleet: the Global 5500 and Global 6500 aircraft, with class-leading ranges of 5,700 and 6,600 nautical miles, respectively, top speeds of Mach 0.90 and Bombardier's smooth ride technology.

"Bombardier's two newest Global aircraft are the result of our unrelenting commitment to innovation, excellence and most of all, our desire to deliver unmatched capabilities to our customers," said David Coleal, President, Bombardier Business Aircraft. "This next generation of performance stems from the winning DNA of our Global family of aircraft, now further enhanced through a newly optimized wing, a fully reimagined cabin and new, purpose-built engines."

The Global 5500 and Global 6500 aircraft add to the industry's best large-category family, joining the high-performing Global 5000 and Global 6000 aircraft, and the unparalleled Global 7000 aircraft. These new aircraft build on the success of the Global 5000 and Global 6000 aircraft by offering 500 and 600 nautical miles of additional range, respectively, coupled with an up to 13-per-cent fuel burn advantage, contributing to highly favorable operating costs versus smaller competing aircraft with less range.

Taking total performance to new heights, these aircraft also deliver a range increase of up to 1,300 nautical miles when operating out of hot-weather and high-altitude conditions, thanks to increased thrust and improved fuel efficiency. These aircraft also boast superior agility compared to their closest competitors, with the ability to access airports that others can't, such as London City.

Purpose-built Rolls-Royce Pearl engines and a new wing make the Global 5500 and Global 6500 aircraft cleaner and more efficient.

The Global 5500 aircraft can connect Sao Paolo and Paris, and Moscow and Los Angeles; the Global 6500 aircraft can connect Hong Kong or Singapore and London, and Toluca and Madrid.

Passengers will benefit from this unrivalled performance in absolute comfort, enjoying Bombardier's signature smooth ride, an ultra-high-resolution entertainment system and safe access to baggage at all times.

The redesigned cabins aboard these aircraft are stunning as Global cabins are renowned to be, with exclusive features that are as innovative as they are luxurious.

Bombardier is pleased to reveal that the Global 5500 and Global 6500 aircraft will offer the patented Nuage seat, the first new seating architecture in business aviation in more than 30 years. The Nuage seat, with exclusive technologies engineered for maximum comfort and effortless movement, is the perfect asset on a long flight.

An additional seating innovation is available on the Global 5500 and Global 6500 aircraft: the Nuage chaise, which adds new dimensions to the conference suite as a lounge chair that converts into a flat surface for sleeping or banquet-style dining around the table.

The class-leading Bombardier Vision flight deck on these new aircraft introduces the first true combined vision system (CVS) in business aviation - the only system to seamlessly merge enhanced and synthetic images in a single view.

Expected to enter service at the end of 2019, the Global 5500 and Global 6500 aircraft boast operating costs that rival all other aircraft in their class, along with the built-in systems redundancy and robustness for which Bombardier Global aircraft are renowned.

The introduction of two new Global aircraft has been a carefully targeted investment that further strengthens Bombardier's portfolio of business jets. With development nearing completion and entry-into-service fast approaching, these new aircraft will support Bombardier's successful five-year plan and contribute to the Company's 2020 objectives.
