NBAA '04: Comant, Heads Up Technologies Sign Antenna Pact

Comant Industries and Heads Up Technologies have announced that Comant has been selected to supply XM-approved antennas for both XM Satellite Radio and XM WX Satellite Weather service for aircraft.

XM Satellite Weather provides comprehensive, graphical and textual weather conditions to pilots for increased situational awareness. The service delivers critical, near real-time information for pilots across the U.S. and over 100 miles off shore. “We’re very pleased that Heads Up Technologies and XM chose COMDAT antennas for a complete and comprehensive antenna suite of XM capable antennas” said Walt Stierhoff, V.P. and G.M. of Comant.

"XM WX’s graphically-rich service significantly improves the quality and timeliness of weather information available in flight.”, said David Groos, Sr. VP, Sales and Marketing of Heads Up Technologies.

COMDAT antennas are available in a wide range of forms and types. The CI 401-420 GPS/XM combination is a virtual “drop-in” for many installations. The COMDAT 2480 Series is helicopter rated, and has undergone some of the most rigorous environmental testing ever conducted by Comant. Other antennas with combined functionality are in the process of receiving XM approval.

Fully TSO’d, these antennas are ready for any aircraft owner that wants an updated look and lowdrag efficiency added to their single engine aircraft.
