Airborne 10.09.12: SpaceX In Business, SC 787 Delivered, AOPA Fallout Continues

On-time and on-spec, SpaceX' Dragon is now its way to the ISS. Following a Sunday night, 2035 ET launch, the Dragon capsule reached its planned orbit of 212 miles above Earth, despite a single engine failure a little over a minute into the mission.

The vehicle is on course to catch up to the station during the next couple of days. The Falcon9’s redundant engine configuration didn’t miss a beat...  Boeing, on Friday, marked a historic milestone with delivery of the first 787 Dreamliner built at its North Charleston, SC, facility to Air India. Boeing claims that the delivery marks the beginning of a new era of commercial airplane production in South Carolina.
