Aero-TV: The AEA 2015 Mission - A Unique Set Of Challenges

One Of Aviation's Most Productive Organizations Plans For Future Challenges

ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, stopped by the new headquarters of the Aircraft Electronics Association (AEA) to talk with AEA president, Paula Derks, about of number of things as the AEA heads for its International Convention and Trade Show to be held in Dallas, TX from April 8 through the 11th this year.

In this video, Jim is talking with Derks about the challenges facing the avionics industry in 2015 as it relates to the year 2020 mandates for ADS-B out.

Their discussion touches issues about the ADS-B mandate that everyone has been thinking about. For example, there are concerns about the ability of the industry to have the time necessary for the equipment changes. Another area is what appears to be disbelief by some that the FAA will stick to its 2020 mandate. And then, there’s concerns about the costs of the equipment and installation.

Added to the concern surrounding the cost factor is the issue of the NextGen GA fund and when it is going to be available to help with the costs of the equipment. This video is a must see for anyone that is faced with complying with the 2020 requirements for avionics changes. Jim and Paula Derks address the issues in a way that is easily understood and has a message for everyone.
