BBA Aviation Spotlights Total Engine Services At Heli-Expo

Wide Range Of Products, Offerings For Many Types

BBA Aviation's Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) companies will showcase their spectrum of services at this year's Heli-Expo, which runs Sunday through Tuesday in Anaheim, CA.

Included are displays and information on the repair and overhaul of the Rolls-Royce Model 250, Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6T and General Electric CT7-2, CT7-8 and T700 family, Hamilton Sundstrand T40-1 as well as field service, parts support, exchanges, and component repair.

"We cover virtually every aspect of engine support services for helicopter operators," commented BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul President, Hugh McElroy. "We strive to make your experience with us as convenient as possible by expanding our facilities in North America and Europe with field service technicians and assets positioned globally and ready to travel anywhere within hours of a call for help."

"Our rotorcraft engine services support Civil, Military and Government markets around the world," stated McElroy. "In fact, the demand for our Rolls-Royce Model 250 services has become so widespread that we recently named Clarke Mouncher as Global Program Director for Rolls-Royce Model 250 to command our global network. Clarke has years of experience on this product as a programme director at our H+S Aviation company. He will now manage the worldwide RR250 program from our headquarters in Dallas, TX."

BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) provides service on the Rolls-Royce Model 250 through OEM authorized AMC facilities at Premier Turbines (Neosho, MO) and H+S Aviation (Portsmouth, England). Both locations are fully equipped for complete engine overhaul and for module overhaul, repair and exchange. These centers also perform services for military variants of the Model 250. Operators can receive many of these same services at Regional Turbine Centers located in Phoenix, AZ and Dayton, OH with additional RTC locations planned to come into existence later this year.

ERO's Dallas Airmotive company is Pratt & Whitney Canada authorized for repair and overhaul on the PT6T TwinPac at its Dallas, TX facility. "The PT6T market has demonstrated significant growth for us in the past two years," said McElroy. "We see a lot of activity on this engine from outside US markets and have added in-country personnel in Europe, Asia and Latin America to handle the increased activity."

ERO's H+S Aviation company is authorized by General Electric on the CT7-2 and T700 turboshaft engines and most recently added authorization for the CT7-8 used on the Sikorsky S-92. "The S-92 has quickly become a mainstay for operators in the North Sea," commented McElroy. "Our depth of experience on both fixed and rotor wing aircraft using the CT7 has been leveraged to make this a natural addition to our helicopter engine support services."

The CT7-2 engine is used on the Bell 214ST and Sikorsky S-70C. T700 engines power numerous military helicopters including the AH-64 Apache and UH-60 Blackhawk.

BBA Aviation ERO has a dedicated staff of 20 helicopter field service representatives, in order to keep helicopters on line. BBA Aviation's International Turbine Service (ITS) is a member of ERO and complements the repair and overhaul companies by supporting helicopter operators with exchange engines, modules, and components as well as new, exchange and serviceable parts for RR250 and PT6T engines.

ERO has an in-house component repair group capable of repair, overhaul and exchange of critical components used in every model ERO supports. Compressors, gearboxes, nozzles, supports, accessories, turbines and combustion liners are among the many components that can be repaired, overhauled or exchanged.

"Our goal is to provide helicopter operators with everything they need for total engine support," concluded McElroy. "Our coverage is strong and continues to build."
