Gulfstream Announces Savannah Facility Expansion for Next-Gen Aircraft

Gulfstream Kicking Production Up a Notch to Meet Expected Demand

Gulfstream Aerospace has announced an impending expansion of its Savannah, Georgia aircraft and wing manufacturing facility to meet expected customer demand of the next-gen Gulfstream G400.

The 262,000 square-foot expansion will add dedicated space for G400 production and wing lines, with additional room devoted to  material delivery and distribution areas. The expansion also augments ongoing growth at Gulfstream’s wing production facility adjacent to the G400, G500 and G600 manufacturing building. The headquarters currently houses production of the marque's flagship G700, new G800, and the G650ER, along with the manufacture of wings and empennages for those aircraft. Interior completion is also undertaken in Savanna, but distributed to additional Gulfstream facilities across the USA.

“This planned expansion is part of our long-term strategic plan and investment strategy we envisioned to accommodate our next-generation family of aircraft,” said Mark Burns, president, Gulfstream. “We intentionally designed these aircraft and facilities with a range of commonalities to increase operational efficiency and flexibility. This strategy, combined with the investments we’ve made in advanced precision manufacturing, allow Gulfstream to achieve industry-leading quality and consistency.”
