Aero-TV: Changing Of The Guard (Part2) - Redbird Flight Preps For The Future

It’s A Company That Thrives on Its Culture and Has No Use for an HR Department…

While the ANN crew was at Redbird Migration 2016, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, had the opportunity to hold a conversation with Redbird Flight Simulation’s Jerry Gregoire, Charlie Gregoire, and Todd Willinger. Part 1 of Jim’s interview dealt with the company’s progress over the last 10 years. In part 2, we take a look at unique business styles and innovative business planning.

Willinger starts off by discussing the concept of setting a price point and then designing the technology to make it happen. He also talks about the challenges faced when starting a new business at the beginning of a recession.

Charlie Gregoire brings up the issue of how Redbird Flight Simulations didn’t start with the idea of being just another simulator company. They knew their products had to be unique and the concepts of the product use had to be innovative. In other words, Redbird Flight Simulations practically reinvented the role of simulation in flight training.

Willinger goes on to talk about the culture at Redbird Flight Simulations. He made an interesting point when he said that Redbird doesn’t just think outside of the box, they don’t even know where the box is.

This video is about much more than a single company, it’s really a lesson on how to succeed no matter what business you’re in.
