ICAS: Cheyenne Air Show Moving Forward

Viewing Will Be Set Up Like A Drive-In Movie

Our friends at the International Council of AirShows have pointed out a bright spot for the what's left of the 2020 airshow season... As the likely first air show of the season for the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, ICAS explains that the Wings Over Warren Air Show (formerly known as Cheyenne Frontier Days) will feature the aforementioned jet team and multiple single-ship demo teams. The July 22nd show is planning to pivot and hold the event in the newly trending "drive-in" format at Warren Air Force Base in Cheyenne, Wyoming.

TH-73A Instructor Pilot Training Begins

The TH-73A AHTS Is Expected To Be In Service For Approximately 30 Years

Instructor pilot training for the new TH-73A Advanced Helicopter Training System (AHTS) began in June with the first two instructor pilots from Training Air Wing (TAW) 5 getting classroom and hands-on experience at the AgustaWestland Philadelphia Corporation (Leonardo) facility in Philadelphia. The TH-73A AHTS will reach Initial Operational Capability in 2021 and will provide the training tools needed to produce the next generations of rotary and tilt-rotor pilots for the U.S. and select allied nations, thus ensuring the future readiness of Naval Aviation.
