Warren Ludlum of Old Tappan, NJ told the Associated Press his
B-24 was shot down during WWII while under the escort of P-51s
piloted by the famed all-black, Tuskegee Airmen.
In an almost comical incident that could have had decidedly
tragic results, a USAF B-52 Stratofortress bomber accidentally
dropped its load of concrete practice bombs in Kanopolis Lake near
Salina, KS this past July.
Eglin Air Force Base's western range, Bravo 70, was the site for
the largest-ever Combat Hammer weapons system evaluation program
(WSEP) December 4 to 8, sponsored by the 86th Fighter Weapons
