Seven Instructors Receive Master Designation In June

National Accreditation Recognized By The FAA

Seven CFIs completed Master Instructors course to receive the prestigious designation in the month of June. The title has been eared by fewer than 700 of the 91,000 CFIs currently active in the country. The last 17 National Flight Instructors of the Year were Master CFIs. In addition, the FAA has approved the accreditation as an alternate means for CFIs to renew their flight instructor certificates.

Wichita Aero Club Board Adds New Members

Elevates Executive Director To President

The Wichita Aero Club (WAC) has elected six new members to its Board of Directors. The group includes three additions and three executives who were elected to replace company representatives who have left the Board. The new members are John Ek, Publisher of the Wichita  Business Journal, Sean Weaver,  Executive Vice President, Assurance Services at Allen, Gibbs, & Houlik, L.C., and Rod Wilson, Business Development, Goodrich Interiors.

Monday's announcement that Hawker Beechcraft had entered into an agreement with Superior Aviation Beijing for the purchase of the Wichita planemaker may have been what's known in the business world as a "stalking horse," according to some analysts. A stalking horse bid is one that's intended to "test the waters," and assure that the actual sales price of a company is not too low. It is often used in bankruptcy proceedings.
