Working With M.I.T., FAA To Develop Industry-Standard Algorithms For ADS-B-Generated Traffic Alerts

Avidyne said Wednesday that they are actively working with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and the FAA on the Airborne Traffic Situational Awareness with Alerts (TSAA) program for Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B). NASA Conducts Mission Simulations in Hawaii

NASA is conducting a nine-day field test starting Tuesday outside Hilo, Hawaii, to evaluate new exploration techniques for the surface of the moon. These mission simulations, known as analog missions, are performed at extreme and often remote Earth locations to prepare for robotic and human missions to extraterrestrial destinations.

A 16 minute flight over California's Mojave Desert last Thursday ended with a new speed record for an electric plane and a dead stick landing. The speed? 202.6 mph in level flight was achieved by electric vehicle pioneer Chip Yates. The dead stick landing? Also achieved by Chip Yates after "a dead cell killed propulsion after the record run" according to a report on the website WIRED.
