Two Fatally Injured In SNJ-4 Accident

Both On Board Were Retired Commercial Pilots

A restored Navy SNJ-4 trainer went down Tuesday about a mile from takeoff from a private airport community. The two men on board were both retired commercial pilots, and neighbors in the community said one, Jim Crowley, was planning to buy the SNJ-4 from another person in the community, Rodney Richardson. All lived at the air park.

The U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee on Thursday passed the Fiscal Year (FY) 2015 Transportation, Housing and Urban Development (THUD) funding bill, which would provide support for improving the certification process for new aircraft products and technologies, and advance the transition to an unleaded aviation fuel for piston aircraft.
