EAA’s “Project 21” initiative, including the first expansion of the EAA Aviation Center in Oshkosh in more than 20 years, will bring year-round aviation education and training to current and future aviators. Ashley Udick Appointed General Manager For Aero Center Lakeland

Aero Center Lakeland Is Located Midfield Off Taxiway A

SAR Trilogy Management, LLC has appointed Ashley Udick as General Manager of Aero Center Lakeland, its FBO complex at Lakeland Linder International Airport (KLAL). Udick is currently overseeing the construction of the company's first FBO complex, which will open in late May 2021. Aero Center Lakeland is located midfield off taxiway A and at the end of Airport Road. Phase I of the Aero Center Lakeland build includes a new 3-acre air transport capable ramp, a 50K gallon fuel farm, and a modular/temporary FBO. In the 4th quarter of 2021, Phase II will add an 11K square feet FBO and office space as well as two hangars of 10K and 15K square feet.

NTSB Prelim: Robinson Helicopter Co R66

He Felt A Dynamic Rollover Starting...

On April 3, 2021, about 1630 eastern daylight time, a Robinson R66 helicopter; N577DD, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident in Palmyra, Pennsylvania. The pilot was seriously injured. The helicopter was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. On the day of the accident, the pilot had picked up the helicopter at Fredrick Municipal Airport (FDK), Fredrick, Maryland where an annual inspection had just been completed on the helicopter. The pilot then flew it to Double D Ranch Heliport (70PA), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania to pick up a package that he wanted to deliver in the Hershey, Pennsylvania area.
