EAA Hops & Pops Cancelled

Springtime Food and Drink Tasting Party Postponed to Next Year

The annual event, originally to be held on March 12 at the EAA Aviation Museum in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, has been cancelled. Attendees were notified that all tickets will be refunded. The event is normally a chance to enjoy beverages and food, specifically the work of local master brewers, microbrews, and more with live music. The proceeds from the event help underwrite the cost of museum activities throughout the year, including free aviation education programs for young people. Lakeland's biggest LTA Aircraft Event Signs Additional Bands

The Up Up & Away Florida Hot Air Balloon Festival has announced its new additions to the musical lineup, bringing out the Rico Monaco Band, Epic Band, Audio Exchange, Franchise Players, Tracey Coryell, and Stacy Gabel. The festival says there's still plenty of room for sponsors, volunteers, and attendees before things kick off on the weekend of May 6. The festival is run by a dedicated 501(c)(3) non-profit made to promote family friendly aviation, as well as provide a fun springtime day out to bring the community together and enjoy the special, laid back experience inherent to balloonery.

NTSB Prelim: Cirrus Design Corp SR22

The Engine Exhibited A Hole On The Top Of The Case Near The No. 6 Cylinder

On January 13, 2022, about 1326 eastern standard time, a Cirrus SR-22, N879CD, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Lexington, South Carolina. The pilot and passenger were not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. According to the pilot, a preflight inspection of the airplane was conducted with no anomalies noted. He stated, “I checked the oil quantity and added one quart of oil.” The pilot conducted a run-up and departed for Charleston Air Force Base/International Airport (CHS), Charleston, South Carolina, on a visual flight rules (VFR) flight plan about 1300.
