FX LLC was established by the helicopter industry to look into the root causes of helicopter accidents, and they found that it often comes down to the fundamentals. Kevin Bredenbeck, VP of Operations and Director of Training for FX LLC told ANN CEO and editor in chief Jim Campbell at HAI 2017 that the group was challenged with looking at about 2,000 accidents. What they found were some common threads in those accidents.

DJI’s new Phantom 4 Advanced offers a more powerful camera and more upgraded controls. The new upgrades the original Phantom 4, with a 1-inch, 20-megapixel sensor and a mechanical shutter. The upgraded camera is capable of shooting 4K video at 60 frames per second, while more powerful video processing supports H.264 4K videos at 60fps or H.265 4K at 30fps -- at a 100Mbps bitrate. Similar to the Phantom 4 Pro, it comes with intelligent features that allow automatic flight modes, including Draw, ActiveTrack, TapFly, Gesture and Tripod.

A claim of discrimination has been filed against Contra Costa County, CA by the Vietnam Helicopter Museum, which alleges that the county has discriminated by repeatedly blocking attempts to lease a hangar at Buchanan Field. Pacific States Aviation, the Conco Companies, and the museum, first attempted to rent a 39,000 square-foot hangar in December. The museum ranked third in the process.
