In some breaking news that reached us AFTER Airborne was scripted, we have learned that EAA and FAA have reached a settlement overt FAA fees for AirVenture that will offer some relief and stability for the next nine years. A few months ago we covered the story about the plan in Dayton, Ohio to preserve two of the Wright Brothers original factory buildings. The Wright Company buildings stand on a 20-acre historic parcel that’s part of the 54-acre, former Delphi auto parts manufacturing plant. We now have good news on the progress of this project.
High Speed Taxiway
A long radius taxiway designed and provided with lighting or marking to define the path of aircraft, traveling at high speed (up to 60 knots), from the runway center to a point on the center of a taxiway. Also referred to as long radius exit or turn?off taxiway. The high speed taxiway is designed to expedite aircraft turning off the runway after landing, thus reducing runway occupancy time.
