Airborne Flight Information System, also Automatic
Flight Information System. An automatic, pre-recorded series of
messages which can be received either when airborne or via
telephone on the ground detailing the weather conditions, which
runway is in use and any special notifications at a specific
airport.

commenting on the long, hard road United Airlines, its
shareholders, creditors, and employees have taken during the
three-year fight to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy. That fight
may be over soon, however, as United is expected to hear Friday
from a bankruptcy judge that the airline is clear to exit Chapter
11 on February 1.
