Airline passengers may soon be able to breeze through security
screening lines -- after submitting 10 fingerprints, having their
credit histories and property records scrutinized, and paying a
fee.

SUMMARY: The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive
(AD) for all Airbus Model A330-200 and -300 series airplanes, Model
A340-200 and -300 series airplanes, and Model A340-541 and A340-642
airplanes.
The FAA told Victorville, CA officials this week to expect an
agency investigation into the city's use of a $1 million grant
intended to support airline service that has been slow to come to
Southern California Logistics Airport.
Barring a last minute surprise, it looks like Friday will be the
day United executives will finally be able to utter the words
they've waited three years to say: goodbye, Chapter 11.
