International Women’s Air & Space Museum Hosts The Event September 17

The International Women’s Air & Space Museum informs the community about the return of the “Dinner with a Slice of History” program series, taking place on September 17, 2021. “World War II Women in Aviation: An Exploration in Leadership” will be the title this year, and the event features Professor of History and Political Science at Norwich University Dr. Reina Pennington. The event is made possible thanks to a grant from Cuyahoga Arts and Culture.

Drone Camera Filmed Italian Arsonist, Arrest Made

Firefighters Use Drones To Fight Fires, And Catch Who Started Them

A drone camera caught an arsonist in the act of starting a forest fire, in Montesarchio, Italy about 30 miles NE of Naples. He is depicted in the video lighting the fire with a cigarette lighter before walking away. An unnamed suspect was arrested nearby and described by Police as a 50 year old sheep and goat farmer. Firefighters put the fire out the same day after it destroyed about 5 acres of pasture and woods. Italy has had more forest fires than usual this year due to very dry conditions in forests and grasslands. AD: Leonardo S.p.a. Helicopters

AD 2021-16-06 Prompted By The Determination That Additional Parts May Be Susceptible To The Unsafe Condition

The FAA is superseding Airworthiness Directive (AD) 2020-19-11 for certain Leonardo S.p.a. Model A119 and AW119 MKII helicopters. AD 2020-19-11 required repetitive borescope inspections of the 90-degree tail rotor gearbox (TGB) and depending on the inspection results, removing the TGB from service. This AD was prompted by the determination that additional parts may be susceptible to the unsafe condition. This AD retains the inspection requirements of AD 2020-19-11, and revises the compliance time and applicability. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective September 27, 2021.
