Bombardier Announces Gradual Resumption Of Its Manufacturing Operations

Expects 11,000 Employees To Return-To-Work Over The Next Few Weeks

Bombardier has begun the process of recalling most of its Canadian based employees that were placed on furlough following government mandates enacted to slow the spread of COVID-19. Suspended manufacturing and service activities will gradually resume as of May 11. Nearly 11,000 employees are expected to be back to work within the next few weeks across our Aviation and Transportation segments and Bombardier’s Corporate Office. Return-to-work schedules will vary by site and be subject to new procedures to ensure employee health and safety.

NTSB Prelim: PC-12 Winds Up Short Of Runway After Losing Power

Tried, Initially, To Return To DFW, But Diverted To Mesquite

On April 23, 2020, about 1600 central daylight time, a Pilatus PC-12 airplane, N477SS, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Mesquite, Texas. The pilot received serious injuries. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations 91 cross-country flight. Preliminary reports indicate the pilot reported to air traffic control that he was losing engine power. The pilot then said he was going to divert to Rockwall (airport) and accepted vectors to the airport. FAA: Standardized Training Program to Enhance Safety and Efficiency

Program Supports NTSB's Most Wanted List

The FAA has completed an effort that will enable on-demand operators to further enhance safety through standardized training offered by Part 142 training centers. In recent guidance, the FAA outlined a framework for training centers to offer standardized training for pilots at non-scheduled charters and air taxis covered under Part 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations. The completed guidance is the culmination of more than four years of collaboration with the aviation industry through the Air Carrier Training Aviation Rulemaking Committee (ACT ARC).
