UPS Flight Forward, CVS To Use Drones To Deliver Medicines

Program Will Operate At The Villages, A Florida Retirement Community

UPS and CVS Health Corporation is reporting that UPS subsidiary UPS Flight Forward (UPSFF) will use drones to deliver prescription medicines from a CVS pharmacy to The Villages, Florida for the largest U.S. retirement community, home to more than 135,000 residents. The service will use Matternet’s M2 drone system. Drone transport offers a fast delivery option for medicines that are time-senstive, while supporting social-distancing efforts. Drone delivery options provide individuals with a convenient alternative to visiting a pharmacy. This program can also help prioritize the protection of our healthcare heroes.

Canada’s VIH Aviation Group Becomes Sikorsky’s S-92A+ Kit Launch Customer

S-92A+ Upgrade Kit Also Includes An Increase To 27,700 lb. MGW

Sikorsky has signed an agreement with VIH Aviation Group for four S-92A+ upgrade kits. VIH Aviation Group Ltd. and its operating company Cougar Helicopters Inc. have been a leading S-92 helicopter customer in Canada since 2004 and now, the first S-92A+ kit customer. The S-92A+ upgrade kits feature the revolutionary Phase IV Main Gear Box, validated to exceed CFR 29.927(c) requirements as demonstrated in full-scale testing. In the event of a loss of primary lubrication system oil pressure, the gear box has demonstrated the ability to provide return to base capability for a range of more than 400 nautical miles.
