FAA Greenlights Production Of Eclipse 550

Production Certificate Granted, Delivery Of First New VLJs Expected In Mid 2013

The FAA has awarded a production certificate ... #550 ... to Eclipse Aerospace, paving the way for production of the new Eclipse 550 twin-engine jet. Representatives from the FAA presented the production certificate to Cary Winter, Senior Vice President of Eclipse Aerospace, at a ceremony held Wednesday at Eclipse's Albuquerque headquarters.

Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) has received Transport Canada type certification for the PT6C-67E turboshaft engine that will power Eurocopter’s EC175 helicopter. NBAA Comments On Proposed Changes To Emergency Certificate Actions

Supports Action Being Taken On The Organization's' Initiatives

In February 2012, the NTSB issued a notice of proposed rulemaking (NPRM) which noted many of the industry comments from 2010, but did not propose changing the assumption of truth requirements. The safety board explained that law judges can consider additional evidence submissions related to the emergency determination, but NBAA believes that the requirement for NTSB to assume that FAA allegations are true is still a major problem.
