Eurocopter Unveils New EC130 T2

Seven Launch Customers Order A Whopping Total of 105 Helicopters

Eurocopter has shown off their latest variant in the distinguished EC130 program, dubbed the EC130-T2. Enhancements to comfort, operational performance and versatility provided the foundation for this upgrade program. The EC130 T2 was revealed during  the 2012 Heli-Expo exhibition in Dallas, Texas, where Eurocopter also announced seven launch customers for the rotary-wing aircraft covering a total of 105 bookings: Maverick Helicopters, Papillon Helicopters, Blue Hawaiian Helicopters, Scandinavian Helicopter Group, Air Commander, Europavia and Enloe FlightCare.

Lider Aviacao Buys Three S-92 Helicopters

Helos Will Work Brazilian Offshore Oil and Gas Platforms

Sikorsky Aircraft has sold Brazilian helicopter operator, Lider Aviacao, S-92 helicopters. Lider will operate the aircraft predominantly to serve the growing Petrobras demand for large rotorcraft capable of transporting workers to offshore oil and gas platforms. The three new aircraft will join Lider's existing fleet of four S-92 helicopters and 42 Sikorsky S-76 helicopters serving the offshore oil and gas market in Brazil.

Van Horn Aviation Claims Increased Performance From New Design

Rotor blade manufacturer Van Horn Aviation (VHA) will display a prototype of its new Bell 412/212 tail rotor blade here at Heli-Expo. Designed by VHA engineers in collaboration with Bell Helicopter Textron representatives, the new tail rotor blade is predicted to increase tail rotor authority while reducing pilot workload and eliminating inspections required by the current rotor blade’s airworthiness directives (AD).
