control–inflight (LOC-I) as the number one cause of fatal
general aviation accidents over the last decade. Consequently, this
year’s FAASTeam Safety Standdown offers a multi-layered
approach to help pilots reduce the risk of an inflight loss of
control.
CAPACG, AvConnect Analyzed Garmin G1000 Data Using Advance
Cloud-Based Tool
The the first-ever detailed analysis of Garmin G1000 flight data
for Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) has been completed
by CAPACG and AvConnect. This study is one task associated with a
multifaceted, FAA-funded research project – entitled the
General Aviation Safety Information Analysis and Sharing Research
Project – through the Center for General Aviation
Research.

Acquisition Policy, bringing extensive procurement public policy
experience in both the legislative and executive branches to the

Modernization
AOPA has promoted Heidi Williams to Vice President, Air Traffic
Services and Modernization. Craig Spence, Vice President of
