Brussels Airport Expected to Levy Tax for Noise, Destination, and Pollution

Aircraft operating out of Belgium's Brussels Airport will see increased costs in the near future, according to reports. The upcoming taxes will be levied upon all kinds of trigger conditions, from noise levels in the airport environment, emissions, and destinations. Until now, small aircraft and bizjets have been exempted from the taxes, but that honeymoon may soon be over.

Joby Completes System Reviews

While Still a Ways from Production, Joby Keeps Advancing

Joby Aviation announced the successful completion of the 2nd of 4 system reviews required under the type certification process, marking the halfway point of a multi-day audit by FAA personnel. The review serves to validate the overall architecture of the aircraft and ensure that Joby's development process is on the right track, one that's being given particular attention given the complex and fairly novel propulsion systems. The reviews take place alongside the ongoing Means of Compliance reviews, as well as other certification documentation and planning that cover all the nitty gritty aspects of the Joby aircraft and its myriad subsystems.

Daher Delivers First Swiss TBM 960

Newest TBM Variant Finds Home with 930 Pilot

Daher today announced the first Swiss delivery of its newest aircraft, a "top-of-the-line", fully outfitted TBM 960. The recipient was Swiss pilot Paolo Buzzi, an experienced pilot with plenty of time in his older TBM 930. The delivery brings the number of Daher TBMs in Switzerland to a dozen - sure, not too many for a whole country, but Daher notes that it's doing all right in a land with less than 9 million inhabitants. The TBM was dealt through SwissFly Aero, a Zurich-based Daher dealer.
