National Branding May Be Next Evolutionary Step, One Analyst
Says
While the chartering of business jets has been around since the
1960's, it took a quarter-century for it to reach its first
important evolutionary step through things like fractional
ownership and jet cards. Analyst Brian Foley says it's as if
the industry had been stumbling toward its next big idea --
the emergence of branded services.
Cessna has delivered the 300th Citation X to its authorized
sales representative, Jetalliance, based in Vienna, Austria. The
Citation X will be operated from Vienna by an unnamed retail
customer. Jetalliance is Cessna's authorized sales representative
for Russia and Eastern Europe.
West Coast Fires Are The Impetus For Policy Review
The U.S. Forest Service says it is reviewing its policy on night
firefighting following this summer's active fire season out west.
If approved, the change would allow firefighting helicopters to fly
at night. The Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors has been
pushing for nighttime operations in the wake of those fires.
