Aeroterm Announces New Air Cargo Expansion At KMIA

Tenant Is World's Largest Express Transportation Company, FedEx Express

 Aeroterm has announced an agreement with Miami-Dade County for the expansion of its air cargo facility at Miami International Airport (KMIA). Aeroterm holds a ground lease at MIA and leases the facility to FedEx Express. The agreement to extend the Aeroterm ground lease and expand the facility was approved by the County Commission on March 19th.

Democrat Senators Introduce 'Safety Is Not For Sale' Act

Group Says Legislation Is In Response To Recent Boeing 737 MAX Accidents

Senator Edward J. Markey (D-MA), a member of the Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee, has introduced the Safety is Not for Sale Act, legislation that would require air carriers to adopt additional safety features and ensure all non-required safety enhancing equipment is offered or provided to air carriers without an additional charge. The Senators say the two 737 MAX 8 aircraft involved in the Lion Air crash and the Ethiopian Airlines crash lacked two safety features that could have helped the pilots and aviation mechanics recognize false readings from the sensors connected to the aircraft’s new flight control system.

Airbus has launched first operations of a new Skywise service – Skywise Health Monitoring (SHM) – with Allegiant Air on its A320s. Dynamically coupled with Skywise Reliability Services (SRS) and Skywise Predictive Maintenance (SPM), SHM is hosted on Skywise, gathering live diagnostic feeds from the aircraft through its Aircraft Communication Addressing and Reporting System (ACARS) link to the airline’s information system.
