Opts For PurePower 1133G-JM For The Aircraft

Hawaiian Airlines has selected the Pratt & Whitney PurePower 1133G-JM engine to power its new fleet of Airbus A321neo aircraft. Pratt & Whitney will also provide off-wing engine maintenance via its PureSolution Fleet Management Program.

Nearly New B737-800 Downed In Bali Just Prior To Landing

NTSB Assisting In Investigation

A month-old Lion Air Boeing 737-800 went down, short of the runway, but without any loss of life. The 108 persons on board were all reported to have survived the accident where the 737 went down less than 200 feet short of the runway and impacted in the ocean while attempting to land in Bali, Indonesia. Injuries were reported to upwards of 45 people, and the fuselage was seen to have been broken in a number of places as a result of the impact. The flight started earlier in the day in Bandung, and had flown two other legs, Saturday, before the Bali impact.

India's Kingfisher Airlines Submits Reorganization Plan

Hopes To Resume Flight Operations, No Restart Date Determined

Indian carrier Kingfisher Airlines, which was grounded last October due to insolvency, has submitted a plan to that country's Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for a resumption of flight operations. The company would be backed financially by its parent company, UB Group.
