Peters Announces National Team To Review Air Carrier
Policies
Faced with mounting criticism of FAA inspection policies, on
Friday US Secretary of Transportation Mary E. Peters announced a
series of measures intended to improve the agency's safety
inspection program, and minimize travel disruptions caused when
airlines abruptly ground aircraft. Peters also tasked a newly
created independent review team with crafting recommendations to
improve the current aviation safety system.
We've heard a lot lately about supplier woes at Boeing,
regarding the oft-delayed 787 Dreamliner... but in a ceremony

their commitment to superior performance and customer
satisfaction.
Ship it AOG announced this week it has signed a definitive
agreement with Unitron, LP to become a factory-authorized
distributor for their new aircraft ground power products.
ATR announced this week the signing of a contract for the
purchase of two ATR 72-500s to be operated by Thailand’s
Bangkok Airways. The deal is valued at US $37 million, and was
inked with Irish-based leasing company AIR Ltd (Aircraft
International Renting), a subsidiary of TAT Group, which will lease
the aircraft to the airline.
