China, Ethiopia And Grand Cayman Stop Flying The Jets
At least three countries have grounded their 737 MAX 8 airliners following an accident in Ethiopia Sunday which resulted in the fatal injury of all 157 people on board the airplane.
Framework For Dispatchers' First Contract Established
The Teamsters Union and Allegiant Air reached an agreement in principle yesterday for the 34 dispatchers employed at Allegiant. This will be the first contract for the dispatchers since they voted to join the Teamsters.
Mesa Air Group has named Brad Rich as its new Executive vice president and Chief Operating Officer. Rich brings over 30 years of airline industry leadership experience to this role, where he will oversee the airline’s operations and performance, and report directly to Mesa Air Group CEO Jonathan Ornstein. Rich will also will be heavily involved with commercial contracts and major airline relationships.

GECAS has delivered AEI’s inaugural passenger-to-freighter converted 737-800 to Ethiopian Airlines, national flag carrier of Ethiopia. Completing the conversion of the prototype aircraft in December, Aeronautical Engineers Inc (AEI) has now received the supplemental type certification (STC) from the FAA for their 737-800SF.
