Launch New Graduate Pilot Program Under New Three-Year Contract
CAE has announced the launch of the Loganair Graduate Pilot Program, and the signing of a new 3-year pilot training contract with Loganair. The announcement was made during the 2019 European Aviation Training Symposium (EATS).
Barcelona-based airline Volotea has chosen Airbus to train all its pilots following the signature of an exclusive five-year contract. The training, which will commence in January 2020, includes Type-Rating as well as long-term Recurrent training linked to Volotea's growing fleet of Airbus A319s – which will exceed 50 aircraft in 2023. The organization of the training plan is currently on-going, paving the way for the ‘go-live’ next year.
Two Recently Installed On Boeing 737-300 Airplanes
Aircraft engine leasing company APOC Aviation has sold two CFM56-3 engines (Serial numbers: 856622/857283) in a multi-million dollar transaction with a national carrier. Both are now installed on Boeing 737-300 aircraft.
Boeing president and Chief Executive Officer Dennis Muilenburg testified Tuesday before the U.S. Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation regarding aviation safety and the 737 MAX airplane. He was joined by Boeing Commercial Airplanes vice president and Chief Engineer John Hamilton. Muilenburg and Hamilton will also appear Wednesday, October 30, before the U.S. House Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure to discuss the design and development of the 737 MAX.
New Investment Vehicle Will Focus On Accelerating The Development Of Sustainable Aviation Fuels And Other Decarbonization Technologies
United Airlines today further strengthened its reputation as an aviation industry leader in environmental sustainability by committing $40 million toward a new investment vehicle focused on accelerating the development of sustainable aviation fuels and other decarbonization technologies. The carrier, which earlier this year agreed to purchase up to 10 million gallons of sustainable aviation fuel over the next two years, will look to collaborate with other environmentally conscious partners on this extraordinary initiative.
