JetBlue Starts 2021 With New Airbus A220-300

Lower Operating Costs and Performance Capabilities Touted

JetBlue  has formally taken delivery of its first Airbus A220-300 aircraft, marking the start of a new era for the airline's fleet. The aircraft – tail N3008J – arrived at JetBlue's home at New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK) over the weekend from Airbus's US production facility in Mobile, Ala. It is the first delivery of 70 A220 aircraft JetBlue has on order, which will be phased in to ultimately replace the existing fleet of 60 Embraer 190 aircraft. FAA Provides Expected Supportive Statement on EPA Airplane Rules

'Will Allow The FAA To Include The Requirements In Its Regulations For Certifying New Airplanes'

The FAA welcomes the announcement by the EPA of the EPA’s action to adopt a greenhouse gas emissions standard for new airplanes. The EPA’s rule achieves U.S. adoption of an internationally agreed carbon dioxide standard established by the International Civil Aviation Organization in 2017. Implementation of this standard in the United States will allow the FAA to include the requirements in its regulations for certifying new airplanes, placing U.S. engine and airframe manufacturers on a level playing field with manufacturers in other countries that have adopted the international standard.
