The Small UAV Coalition commends the FAA and Department of Transportation in meeting its commitment to publish a final remote ID rule by the end of this year. Unfortunately however, the FAA missed the opportunity to adopt a flexible, technology-neutral approach to remote ID by allowing both broadcast and network technology. JetBlue  has formally taken delivery of its first Airbus A220-300 aircraft, marking the start of a new era for the airline's fleet. FAA Provides Expected Supportive Statement on EPA Airplane Rules

'Will Allow The FAA To Include The Requirements In Its Regulations For Certifying New Airplanes'

The FAA welcomes the announcement by the EPA of the EPA’s action to adopt a greenhouse gas emissions standard for new airplanes. The EPA’s rule achieves U.S. adoption of an internationally agreed carbon dioxide standard established by the International Civil Aviation Organization in 2017. Implementation of this standard in the United States will allow the FAA to include the requirements in its regulations for certifying new airplanes, placing U.S. engine and airframe manufacturers on a level playing field with manufacturers in other countries that have adopted the international standard.

Frasca Sim Installed at Air Force Academy

Fourteenth Frasca Device Installed At The Air Force Academy The US Air Force Academy has taken delivery of a Frasca Flight Training Device (FTD). The SR20 FTD features a 270-degree TruVision Global wraparound visual system with a custom database, CAPS simulation, real Garmin 1000 Perspective avionics suite, electronic control loading, Simplicity Instructor operator station with a remote tablet, and more. This will be the fourteenth Frasca device installed at the Air Force Academy. A Cessna 172 FTD and twelve single-engine turboprop devices have previously been in use at the academy, training cadets in their Airmanship Next program.

Spreading Crop Seed On A Field About 150-200 Ft Agl When The Engine Lost All Power

On September 22, 2020, about 1520 central daylight time, an Ayres Corporation S2R-T45, N3298M, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Jackson, Tennessee. The commercial pilot was not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137 aerial application flight. The pilot reported that he was spreading crop seed on a field about 150-200 ft agl when the engine lost all power. He continued over a subdivision and looked for a place to land the airplane.
