The CAF's C-47 transport airplane That's All, Brother is a pretty special airplane. It has the distinction of being the first aircraft to cross into Europe on D-Day.  Last week, the airplane had a pretty special passenger. Dick Cole, who is the last surviving person who flew the famous Doolittle Raid over Tokyo in 1942, was aboard as the CAF commemorated the anniversary of the D-Day invasion. The FAA has accepted an application for a type certificate from Workhorse Group for the SureFly eVTOL aircraft. The SureFly design appears to be the first hybrid-electric eVTOL multi-copter to reach this milestone with the FAA. SureFly has been designed to be easy to operate

Appropriators Say Office Should Streamline The Regulatory Process

A bill reported out of the U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee calls for a $2.4 million increase for the FAA's Office of Commercial Space Transportation. The nearly $25 million budget for the AST is $3.4 million more than requested by the Trump administration, and slightly higher than the amount approved by the House Appropriations Committee in May.
