The U.S. Senate has passed and sent to the U.S. House an FAA reauthorization bill that does not include the House's controversial plan to privatize Air Traffic Control ... and the leadership of the Senate Commerce Committee passed along a subtle warning to House leaders about the plan after the vote. Sen. Bill Nelson said, “We’ve given the House a good bi-partisan blueprint to follow and one that they ought to pass easily. Adding controversial measures could put the bill in jeopardy and result in a big loss for consumers and for the safety of the flying public.” The bill reauthorizes the FAA through fiscal year

Current satellite launch systems, however, require scheduling years in advance for an extremely limited inventory of available slots. Moreover, launches often cost hundreds of millions of dollars each, due in large part to the massive amounts of dedicated infrastructure and large number of personnel required. Joint Venture With Airbus Defense And Space To Build Estimated $85 Million Automated Facility In Florida

OneWeb Satellites, a joint venture between Airbus Defense and Space and OneWeb, has chosen Florida's Space Coast as the site for its final assembly line, completing the last step in its industrial organisation. This facility, located at Florida’s Exploration Park, near the Kennedy Space Center, will carry out the series production of nearly 900 satellites for the OneWeb constellation.
