ANN REALTIME REPORTING 03.14.06 1610 EST: NASA today
announced the launch of the space shuttle Discovery -- the second
since the program's return to flight after the 2003 Columbia
disaster -- has been delayed until at least July. Shuttle Program
Manager Wayne Hale said he told his shuttle prep team today that
the delay was brought about by the discovery of faulty sensors in
the shuttle's external tank.
NASA planned on launching its Space Technology Five mission
Tuesday... but alas, Mother Nature has other plans. Instead, NASA's
launch of three small satellites designed to test the limits of
technology will blast off Wednesday.
Rocketplane Kistler May Offer ISS Flights As Soon As 2008
Aero-News has learned that Rocketplane Limited, Inc. and Kistler
Aerospace Corporation have joined forces as a new space
transportation team. This team -- to be named Rocketplane Kistler
-- is made up of two companies with histories dating back to the
start of the entrepreneurial space movement in the early
1990’s.
