Aero-TV: Trig Avionics -- An Avionics Heavyweight in the Making

Small But Packed To The Gills... Trig Is Building A Hefty Rep

Despite their size, the trig Avionics line is hard to miss... small, light, affordable and destined for MANY of our cockpits, this UK company is making inroads in the American GA and Sport Aviation market even in the worst of the economic doldrums.

Trig manufactures certified avionics for the Light and General Aviation sector.

Among their transponder offerings, Trig produces a retro-fit unit called the TT31 and compact transponders known as the TT21 and TT22. These are popular, particularly where aircraft panel space is tight (which describes WAY too many retrofit panel projects in this day and age. Trig’s compact TT22 transponder is the world’s smallest Mode S and ADS-B capable device.

A separate control head and hardware unit allow installation virtually anywhere in the panel. With a depth of just over 2” the TT22 transponder is the ultimate space saver, delivering Mode S and a 1090ES ADS-B Out capability that is 2020 mandate ready. The company is expanding and offering new products, such as our TY91 and TY92 VHF radios. The Trig TY91 and TY92 radio includes a two place intercom; both are highly compact and light weight perfect for light sport aircraft with limited panel space. Further new products are planned and will be introduced primarily aimed at the retro-fit market.

Trig is reportedly the first company in the world to meet the latest FAA certification for transponders to TSO C166b, offering a 2020 ‘mandate ready’ 1090ES ADS-B Out solution for the U.S. and beyond. Trig's philosophy is to provide certified products that are innovative, simple to operate and suit the needs of regular GA pilots.
