Aero-TV: Innovation By Avilution – Making Avionics Fit Your Panel

Avilution's Custom Panel For LSA Aircraft

Avilution, a software-based avionics solutions producer, based in Huntsville, AL, brought a new version of its glass panel to AirVenture in 2018.

The panel is designed to fit in a Panther LSA airplane, which has a cockpit that measures only 28 inches wide, according to company founder Mark Spencer. The focus, Spencer said, was presenting the information in a large, easy-to-read format.

The company has developed a web-based configuration tool, which allows the user to configure the panel on a computer and then upload it into the airplane.

According to the company, Avilution’s core product, XFS, is software-based framework that integrates disparate avionic components into a single, unified, avionics experience. In it’s most simplest form, XFS can be used to build a graphical interface for a radio, show and/or log engine monitoring system(s), or drive and monitor the state of switches and/or relays. However, XFS is much more! In it’s appropriate role, XFS is the hub of the entire avionics system driving multiple displays and unifying all the aircraft’s subsystems.
