FAI Awards Announcement Will Also Take Place As Part Of The General Conference
The 115th FAI General Conference 2021 and annual Awards Announcement will again be held online due to the uncertainty of hosting a physical event during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Awards Announcement evening is confirmed as 9 November 2021 with the General Conference from 9 to 11 November 2021.
Following the success of the 2020 General Conference and Awards Announcement, the FAI Executive Board has taken the decision to repeat the online conference for 2021, in response to the ongoing pandemic conditions.
The 2021 FAI Awards Announcement will take place as part of the General Conference with the names of the recipients of FAI diplomas and medals announced in a webcast, together with a description of their outstanding achievements and contributions.
The 2021 General Conference was due to be hosted by the Aeronautical Union of Serbia to coincide with their NAC’s 100th anniversary.
FAI President David Monks commented: “We extend our warmest wishes to our friends at the Aeronautical Union of Serbia as it is with regret that we have had to take the decision to move the General Conference online again in 2021. However, following the success of the 2020 webcast, we have full confidence in our ability to once again share the event with Delegates from around the world in 2021.”
In order for Delegates to cast votes during the General Conference, in 2021 the system of online voting will again be implemented.
Information, training sessions and test-runs will be offered ahead of the Conference, in order to ensure the smooth running of the event.
