EAA To Raffle Not One... But TWO Aircraft For 2008

SR20, Rotorway Kit Top List Of Sweepstakes Prizes

Straight wing or rotary? That's a question entrants in the Experimental Aircraft Association's annual sweepstakes may have to consider. For the first time, there are two new aircraft that top the list of prizes in the contest, which officially opened November 1 and ends August 3, 2008 -- the final day of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh.

This year's grand prize is a new Cirrus SR20, valued at $220,000.  which is fully IFR-certified with a multi-function flat-panel display and the Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS). Also being awarded this year is a RotorWay A600 Talon helicopter kit, valued at $90,000, along with a $20,000 RotorWay educational credit at RotorWay's new flight training facility.

All proceeds of EAA's annual aircraft sweepstakes -- which is open to members and non-members -- are used for EAA's youth education and aviation preservation efforts.

"For more than a quarter-century, EAA members have created and participated in this fundraising effort that benefits EAA programs and all of aviation," said Elissa Lines, EAA vice president of commercial and donor relations. "This year's sweepstakes offers the best group of prizes we've ever gathered. These prizes are donated by companies who support EAA's mission and programs that build the spirit of aviation."

Other prizes in the sweepstakes include a Honda ST1300A motorcycle; a John Deere X700 Ultimate lawn tractor; a BOSE Wave radio/CD system; and Canon EOS 40D camera.

Entry forms are available online, and also in selected issues of EAA Sport Aviation and Sport Pilot magazines. Complete sweepstakes entry and eligibility rules are available at the website.
