Bose Delivers Improvements With ProFlight Series 2 Aviation Headset

New ProFlight Series 2 Developed For Corporate Jet And Commercial Aircraft Pilots

Bose announced the new Bose ProFlight Series 2 Aviation Headset, designed for pilots operating in low to moderate noise conditions, on Monday at AirVenture. Building upon the advanced technology of the original ProFlight Aviation Headset, the Bose ProFlight Series 2 combines customer feedback with Bose's world-renowned engineering and is the most lightweight, compact and comfortable aviation headset Bose has ever produced. The new ProFlight Series 2 is expected to be available worldwide beginning in September.

The ProFlight Series 2 is the latest addition to Bose's aviation headset lineup, which also includes the Bose A20, a headset designed for pilots flying louder general aviation aircraft. Engineered for the way pilots fly, the new ProFlight Series 2 offers numerous updates and enhancements, including:

  • A much thinner, lighter and more flexible cable providing increased freedom of movement, improved on-head stability and lower on-head weight
  • Updates to tap control that improve the accuracy and responsiveness to further optimize communication outside the intercom
  • Improved low mode noise cancellation designed to optimize communication outside the use of the intercom
  • A non-Bluetooth headset variant
  • An option for custom-molded eartips provided by Bose's approved partner, Avery Sound
  • Improvements to the carrying case for easier storage and transportation
  • The addition of winglets on the mic boom to assist in correct mic alignment and adjustment with improved microphone muff attachment
  • A five-year warranty extending to owners of the original ProFlight Aviation Headset
  • Enhanced Bluetooth audio response

"Bose is excited to introduce improvements to the industry's smallest and lightest active noise cancelling aviation headset available," said Glenn Burack, Director, Aviation, Military and SoundComm Headsets, at Bose. "We spoke with numerous corporate and airline pilots about their work environment and received valuable input that helped our engineers deliver a refined headset ideally suited for their unique flight deck and cockpit environments – where noise is pervasive, comfort is required and communication is critical."

Backed by more than 30 new and existing U.S. utility and design patents, the Bose ProFlight Series 2 Aviation Headset builds on the clean sheet design and engineering from the original ProFlight headset. The ProFlight Series 2 further reinforces Bose's leadership in headset technology through the unique combination of features and benefits developed by the company's engineering and technology experts.
