The 100th Pilatus PC12 Converted To The 5 Bladed MT-Propeller System

It’s Been 5 Years Since The Introduction Of The 5-Bladed Propeller System For The Pilatus PC12

MT says customers are impressed by the improved performance in takeoff (15% shorter), climb (10% faster) and cruise (up to 4kts faster) plus the cabin comfort with a jet-like vibration level and reduced cabin noise.

The PC12 fleet has accumulated over 100,000 hours of flight time with the 5-blade MT-Propeller. The TBO for the propellers is presently 3000 hours or 6 years, and this will be increased to 3500 hours soon.

Phelps Lane, owner of the Cygnus Lift company, told MT-Propeller of his impression after installation of the QFJ MT-Propeller System on his PC12, which was the 100th PC12 to receive the conversion.

Lane reportedly said, in part, “The propeller shortens takeoff, greatly increases climb rates, and reduces noise and vibration to the point where my passengers have made comments about the difference in the cabin. This is a much needed modernization to the front of the PC-12. It is like having a new aircraft!”

MT-Propeller manufactures natural composite propellers with 30 propeller models from 2-blade to 6-blade hydraulically controlled variable pitch propeller, for engines producing up to 5000hp, and 2-blade to 4-blade electrically controlled variable pitch propeller, for engines producing up to 350hp. They also produce two-blade fixed-pitch propellers.
