Avemco to Present at Aging Aircraft Public Meeting

Avemco’s Chief Underwriting Officer, Jim Lauerman, will be a presenter at the upcoming FAA public meeting on aging general aviation aircraft to be held March 22 & 23 in Kansas City, Missouri. Mr. Lauerman will give a general overview of Avemco’s underwriting experience with older aircraft and share his perspective of the insurance industry stance on this issue.

“The challenge of aging aircraft could be affected by the insurance industry to a greater extent than many may realize,” said Mr. Lauerman (pictured below).

“My hope is to offer the attendees a perspective directly from an insurance company, including suggestions on what can be done to help assure the availability of insurance for these aircraft over the long term.”

With a significant financial exposure every time an aging aircraft flies, insurance companies have a vested interest in this issue. Avemco wants to help in the development of programs that will keep these aircraft insurable, while avoiding excessive regulation for their owners.
