Cessna 337 Down At Northeast Florida Regional Airport

Two On Board Hospitalized Following The Accident

Details are pretty sparse, but a Cessna 337 went down at the Northeast Florida Regional Airport (KSGJ) in St. Augustine, FL Tuesday morning.

Television station WJXT reports that the plane went down just off Runway 13 at the airport. It was unclear if the plane was landing or departing from the airport.

One of the occupants of the airplane was able to get out of the aircraft, but the other had to be extricated by first responders, according to the report.

Florida Highway Patrol had initially reported that one of the wings separated from the fuselage of the aircraft at some point in the accident sequence, but images of the plane posted by WJXT show the airplane relatively intact in the grass along the runway.

The FHP has indicated that there appears to have been an issue with the airplane's landing gear, though they did not offer further specifics. The investigation into the accident is ongoing, and further details will be added as they become available.
