Exec. Producer Of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story To Introduce Film At Airventure

Blockbuster Film To Be Shown July 27 At Fly-In Theater, Presented By Ford Motor Company

John Knoll, the executive producer and visual effects supervisor for the worldwide blockbuster hit Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Chief Creative Officer at Industrial Light & Magic, will add star power to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017 as he introduces the film on Thursday evening, July 27, at AirVenture’s Fly-In Theater, presented by Ford Motor Company.

EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017, the 65th annual fly-in convention for the Experimental Aircraft Association, runs July 24-30 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh. The outdoor Fly-In Theater offer aviation and hit movies each night under the stars on a five-story high screen, drawing thousands of aviation enthusiasts to what has become an evening tradition at EAA AirVenture.

Knoll has been with Industrial Light & Magic since 1986, and is a highly sought-after visual effects supervisor after earning an Oscar and a British Academy Award (BAFTA) for Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man’s Chest, as well as numerous other nominations. Along with Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Knoll’s supervisory credits include the Star Wars prequels plus may other hit films.

He will introduce the film beginning at approximately 8:30 on July 27, with the film screening to follow. The Fly-In Theater is included with AirVenture admission (weekly and daily) that day.

Knoll‘s appearance continues a history of star-studded appearances at EAA’s Fly-In Theater, including actors Harrison Ford and John Travolta, producer/director George Lucas, and astronauts such as Jim Lovell.

In addition, Knoll will host a forum on “The Visual Effects of Rogue One” at 1 p.m. on Friday, July 28, in EAA’s Theater in the Woods.
