Bolen Backs Hawley

Strongly Recommends Confirmation Of TSA Nominee

NBAA President and CEO Ed Bolen Thursday sent a letter to Sen. Ted Stevens (R-AK), chairman of the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation, strongly recommending the confirmation of Edmund S. “Kip” Hawley to the position of assistant secretary of homeland security. Hawley's nomination is expected to be considered by the committee this afternoon.

“Mr. Hawley's government and private sector experience uniquely qualifies him for this demanding and vital national Homeland Security position,” Bolen's letter stated. “His strong organizational skills and depth of experience with transportation issues will provide the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) with strong and capable leadership. NBAA strongly supports his confirmation and urges the committee to act favorably on his nomination.”
