New Bell Helicopter Vice President and General Manager of the V-22 Program

Bell Helicopter has appointed Dennis Jarvi to the new position of Vice President and General Manager of the V-22 Program. Reporting directly to Bell CEO Mike Redenbaugh, Jarvi will be responsible for all aspects of the V-22 Program ranging from day-to-day operations to operational planning.

"The naming of Dennis Jarvi and this new position is a recognition of the increased momentum and importance of the V-22 program." Gen. Terrence R. Dake, (USMC-Ret) Senior Vice President for US Government and International Military Programs said. General Dake added "This appointment puts a strong Program Management team in place to ensure success in the execution of the V-22 program and, of course, I look forward to continuing the advancement of tilt-rotor technology and its strategic position in the Aerospace Industry, with the V-22 leading the way."

"Tiltrotor technology is one of the most significant technologies of the past 100 years of powered flight," Redenbaugh stated, adding "an organization does not change aviation history without focus, and I am confident Dennis Jarvi will drive the focus to guide the overall program, helping the Bell Boeing Team make the V-22 a success."

Before joining Bell as Vice President US Government Programs, in May of 2001, Jarvi held the position of Vice President and General Manager at Detroit Diesel Corporation in Detroit (MI). He was with Detroit Diesel from 1996 to 2001.

Jarvi spent 11 years with McDonnell Douglas Corporation. Among other assignments, he was the Finland F-18 Program Manager located in St. Louis (MO). While with MDC, he also spent 3 years in Washington (DC) and 2" years in Helsinki, Finland.

Jarvi served eight years on active duty as a Naval Aviator flying F/A-18 and A-7E aircraft. He was assigned to VA-86 on the USS Nimitz from 1979 to 1982 and to VFA-125 in Lemoore (CA) from 1982 to 1984. He retired as a Commander in 1999, after serving for 14 years with the US Naval Reserves. He accumulated over 2000 flight hours and 450 carrier arrested landings.

Jarvi graduated Cum Laude from Western Michigan University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Mathematics. He also holds a Master of Science Degree in Business Management from Maryville University. Jarvi is married to Dana L. Clayborne of Jacksonville (FL).
