Embraer Macon Facility Signs Heavy Maintenance Service Contracts

Envoy Air Inc. and JSX to Benefit

Embraer, the Brazilian multinational manufacturer of commercial, military, executive, and agricultural aircraft, has announced that Embraer Aircraft Maintenance Services (EAMS) in Macon, Georgia, has signed two heavy-maintenance services agreements worth $72-million.

Subject contracts, which will provide airframe maintenance and repair services, have been signed with Envoy Air Inc.—a wholly owned subsidiary of American Airlines Group and operator of over 160 aircraft along 800 daily flights to over 160 destinations throughout North America and the Caribbean—and JSX—an independent U.S. air-carrier and self-described “Hop-On jet service” operating point-to-point flights between and within Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New Mexico, New York, Texas, and the Mexican state of Baja California Sur.

An EAMS customer since 2002, Envoy has, since 2011, periodically outsourced maintenance lines to EAMS. The new contract provides one nose-to-tail heavy maintenance line. Conversely, Embraer’s contract with JSX is for two nose-to-tail heavy maintenance lines.

Embraer Services & Support vice president Frank Stevens remarked: “We welcome Envoy back to EAMS as a recurring customer of heavy maintenance and look forward to the start of new partnerships with JSX for our support. Macon continues to expand, and these new lines will promote growth within the area and open job positions for qualified talent. Overall, these contracts are mutually beneficial for our partners as we can provide exceptional service while expanding our operations.”

Since its 1969 founding, Embraer has delivered more than eight-thousand aircraft. Worldwide, an aircraft manufactured by Embraer takes flight every ten-seconds. The company is the leading manufacturer of regional commercial jets, and Brazil’s principal exporter of high-value-added goods. Embraer maintains industrial units, offices, service, and parts distribution centers, among other activities, across the Americas, Africa, Asia, and Europe.
