Dart Gets TCCA Approval For Its Improved EC/H130 Emergency Float System

Features Two Major Improvements Over The Previous Generation Kit, Company Says

Dart Aerospace (Dart) received STC approval from Transport Canada in late 2018 for its new EC/H130 Emergency Float System (EFS). Applicable to both legacy EC130B4 models and the latest H130 from Airbus, the new EFS features two major improvements over the previous generation kit: compatibility with OEM fixed provisions and the addition of quick release fittings, which allow for the removal of 70% of the kit’s weight in less than five minutes without any tools. In addition, the new EFS is approved for the latest gross weight of the H130 and features a squib-free electro mechanical valve made of corrosion-resistant steel.

As with many other Dart systems, the EC/H130 EFS provides added security with its optional integrated liferaft installed on both float bags, which can accommodate up to six passengers each with an overload capacity of nine.

“Versatility is key in the light single segment; that is why we offer this kit with a quick release system for easy re-missionizing of the helicopter,” says Wesley Reid, Product Strategy and Business Development Manager at Dart Aerospace. “This kit will suit the needs of a VIP customer just as well as the sightseeing or utility operator trying to get the most out of their aircraft.”

Dart offers EC/H130 operators the opportunity to reduce maintenance costs for the EFS with industry- leading 18-month inspection intervals. For ease of ownership, Dart can service floats at its location in Broussard, Louisiana, the newly announced Amsterdam service center, or at any Dart approved float service center worldwide. CARE programs are also available on all Dart Emergency Float Systems for ease of budgeting and scheduling.
